Market Ticker — Live Stocks, Crypto & Forex Prices (Chrome extension)

In short: Market Ticker does not track your browsing, does not read the pages you visit, and has no advertising or analytics trackers. It stores your settings on your own device. It sends data to a server only in two situations: to fetch the prices you asked for, and when you deliberately submit feedback or a rating.

Information stored on your device

The following is saved locally using Chrome's storage and never leaves your computer:

Your watchlist and which symbols are pinned
Your theme choice, and the widget's position and display state
Whether you have hidden the widget
Counters used to decide whether to show a rating prompt, and whether you have already rated or dismissed it

Uninstalling the extension removes all of it. You can also clear it at any time from Chrome's extension settings.

Information sent when prices are fetched

To display prices, the extension sends the ticker symbols on your watchlist to two third-party services:

These requests contain no identifier for you — no account, no install ID, no cookie set by this extension. Your use of those services is subject to their own privacy policies.

Information sent when you submit feedback or a rating

This happens only when you actively choose it — tapping a star, or writing a message and pressing send. Nothing is sent in the background. The data goes to a private Google Sheet owned by the developer, and is not shared with anyone else.

What is never collected

Browsing history — the extension does not record, store or transmit which sites you visit
Page content — the widget renders in an isolated shadow DOM and does not read the page it appears on
Keystrokes, clicks or mouse movement on web pages
Your identity — no name, no account, no Google sign-in. The only personal detail ever collected is an email address, and only if you type one in
Your watchlist contents in feedback submissions — only the number of symbols
Cookies, advertising identifiers or third-party analytics — the extension contains none

How the information is used

Feedback is used solely to fix bugs, decide what to build next, and reply to you if you asked for a reply. It is not sold, not shared with third parties, and not used for advertising, profiling, or credit assessment.

Retention and deletion

Feedback entries are kept while they remain useful for product decisions. To have a submission deleted, email the address below with the approximate date and, if you have it, the install ID — settings can be cleared from Chrome's extension settings, and uninstalling removes all local data immediately.

Children

Market Ticker is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
